Old Transformation Rules Registry Namespace support

HMRC has confirmed that the deprecated pre-V1 Transformation Rules Registry (TRR) namespace will continue to be supported for the time being, because of foot-dragging by product vendors.

The old namespace, introduced in the first Candidate Recommendation of the iXBRL Specification (http://www.xbrl.org/2008/inlineXBRL/transformation) should have ceased support in October 2012. However, support for it will now remain until "at least October 2013" according to HMRC.

Submissions should use either the V1 TRR namespace (http://www.xbrl.org/inlineXBRL/transformation/2010-04-20) or the V2 TRR namespace (http://www.xbrl.org/inlineXBRL/transformation/2011-07-31).

The SureFile Accounts assurance service detects and warns about use of the deprecated TRR namespace - if you are still using iXBRL Accounts production software that generates iXBRL documents that still use this namespace then we strongly suggest you upgrade to a later version, or if that is already the case you petition your software provider to update their product. Once HMRC withdraw support, previously valid iXBRL documents will fail validation on submission to HMRC.
